It ended on December 19, 1967, in Princeton, New Jersey, as she and two American friends joined in a toast to her new life on freedom. Svetlana Alliluyeva explains the decision to break completely with the ideology of Communism, to turn her back on her country, her children, her friends and face the unknown world. 415 pages.
